1st day treatment

I remember when Nita first called me and told me she found a lump in her breast- then when test came back- before the words came out of her mouth I just had the sinking feeling that it was cancer because all of her smoking. Yesterday was Nita's first day of treatment. Around 2:30, takes 15 min. each day. They upped her pain med. Hopefully, this will help her to be pain free. Some are after first treatment and others don't notice it till the last.

The Beginning of the Journey-

Some journeys you look forward to, some you dread. This is a journey that we have dreaded. summer/2007 Nita was diagnosed with Breast Cancer. The Word Cancer strikes fear in all of our hearts. Nita under went chemo, we though she was winning the fight even through it had left her changed.

In June she went to Niki's to take care of her and the new grandbaby. She was in a lot of pain when she got home, she was thinking that it was over exertion - she visited the emergency room to get pain shots for her back- the dr. suggested an MRI. Upon reviewing the MRI he told Nita, she had cancer in her spine from her neck down. Fri. she had an appointment at Casper, Wyoming Cancer for a CT scan of her chest since her ribs hurt too.
